Calorique LTC - Heating cable self-regulating 16-30W/m high quality outer jacket for indoor and outdoor use

Self regulating LTC heating cable is the simplest solution for use on smaller objects where large heating areas or long heating sections are not required. This heating cable can be optimally used against icing of gutters and roofs of buildings and structures, as well as frost protection and temperature control of pipelines in the cold season.

The heating cable has IP protection class 67 and is therefore suitable for temporary submersion in water up to a depth of max. 1m for max. 30 minutes. Permanent use under water is expressly prohibited for this product for safety reasons.

The heating circuit length is calculated by taking into account the following data:

Nominal voltage 230 watts
Type C circuit breaker with 85% maximum load
Maximum voltage drop 10% on the supply conductor of the heating cable
One-sided connection of the heating cable. The cable is set up on metal pipes with following thermal insulation. Inrush current changes according to the start temperature

When the heating cable is cold started, a current jump happens which can be 6-8 times higher than nominal value - this is normal and can last for several seconds.
Within 4-6 minutes the current reaches the calculated value according to the operating temperature.

When planning roof deicing systems, it must be taken into account that the calculated specific power of the cable in dew water is up to 2x higher and may deviate from the data sheet.
