Calorique SLL- Heating cable 16-40W/m self-regulating premium - outer jacket for indoor and outdoor use
Self-regulating SLL heating cable can be perfectly used against icing of gutters and roofs of buildings and structures, as well as frost protection and temperature control of pipelines in the cold season. The SLL heating cable can also be used in potentially explosive atmospheres.
The heating cable has IP protection class 67 and is therefore suitable for temporary submersion in water up to max. 1m depth for max. 30 minutes. Permanent use under water is expressly prohibited for this product for safety reasons.
The heating cable is made of two copper wires arranged in parallel. The copper wires are separated from each other by a semiconductor layer. Because of its continuous, parallel combination of heating matrix particles, the heating cable automatically reacts to fluctuations from the surrounding temperature and compensates it. The plastic shrinks in colder places between the heating conductors and restores the current paths - the resistance decreases - more heating takes place. As the surrounding temperature rises, the resistance increases accordingly, causing the heating cable to cool. Self-regulating heat output adjust individually to each point of the section. In this way, different temperatures are reached in the various individual sections, and so always get the optimum temperature. This also completely eliminates self-overheating, e.g. when the heating cables cross or overlap each other.

ENERGY SAVING – the heating cable is self-regulating and does not require an additional thermostat. It automatically reacts to fluctuations from the ambient temperature and compensates for them: in colder places is heated more, in warmer less.

You can use the required cable length without reducing the properties. The maximum permitted cable length can be taken from the technical data sheet. Even in case of a possible cable crossing, the performance of this heating cable is basically maintained.
The heating cable is cut as meter goods.
Important!
When planning roof de-icing systems, it must be taken into account that the calculated specific power of the cable in dew water is up to 2x higher and may deviate from the data sheet.
